As the saying goes " retired older rodders just get more time to enjoy their passion "... We, at TopShapes, are living proof that such a saying is, indeed, true! For more than 30 years, Claude Thibodeau, a passionnate rodder has built, customized and custom painted countless cars, customs, rods, Harleys... even "custom vans" during the craze of the early 70's! (you had to be there to understand...isnt' it ?)
However, since '85, I've concentrated on street rods, mainly because this is the segment of the car hobby where you are allowed to most stretch the envelope of style, without having to restrict yourself to dogmas or, even worse, limited aftermarket accessories. Creating unique rides is a more "open field", I believe, in the world of rods: extensive body mods, complete phantom cars, exciting chassis technology, innovative interiors, and, of course, EXCLUSIVE ENGINE COVERS ! |

Having built my share of those "crowd pleasing" covers, mostly from fiberglass and aluminium, I decided to take on two distinct challenges:
a) become a grandfather...
and :
b) develop something totally new: a line of EXCLUSIVE ENGINE COVERS that the average rodder could afford to install on his/her ride at an affordable price, with simple tools, in very little time! Voilà: TopShapes was born! |

I have spent the better part of fall 2003 / winter 2004 designing prototypes and perfecting molds to cater to the most popular power plants in rodding: carburated small and big blocks Chevrolet, Ford and Mopar engines, and also injected LS-1, LS-6, LT-1, LT-4 and Small Block Ramjet. This is a time consuming process, since so many carb/intake manifold combinations are in use today. After many months in preparation, our ever expanding line of two-part engine covers is now offered. All models are manufactured here in North-America, by reputable and long established composites suppliers, under our supervision, using TopShapes' exclusive molds. Our parts are made of premium materials, come in a smooth finish, and are ready to trim and finish to your liking. We provide complete and photo illustrated instructions with every unit, for a troublefree installation by the average car hobbyist. |
